THIS IS HOW I ROLL!
This year, in addition to the regular weekly lessons, I will again be hosting four informal song sharing sessions. Three of these sessions are for students only (no parents - though exceptions can be made to this rule for my youngest students!) and will typically take place on Sunday afternoons, in my home. This is a fun, informal way for students to gain experience with performance, without all of the pressure of a big recital - and they typically involve a little eating! It also creates a nice social camaraderie - a chance for them to meet other kids with an interest in music! There is no additional cost for the song sharing sessions. It is desirable, but not required, to come to all 4 sessions. Hopefully, with 4 scheduled sessions, most students could make at least 2 of them. The fourth and final session of the year WILL include parents and family (and of course, a little food!), though still informal in nature. Depending on numbers, this last session will take place either in my home or at the Albany Public Library, Main Branch. Look for the dates announced in a future email!
I also have a fun incentive program in which students can earn tickets throughout the year and can trade them in for small, fun prizes. Tickets are earned for various musically related activities such as memorizing a song, composing a song, playing a theory based learning game, attending a classical or jazz concert, etc.... Students will receive a notice at their first lessons explaining the program in more detail.
There's lots more fun in store for the year! I'm really looking forward to getting started! And on that note (no pun intended!), lessons will be starting up the week of September 10th (I figure everyone, including me, would appreciate a week to get back into school mode!). Lessons will run throughout the school year. As has been my policy in the previous years, tuition is paid in 10 monthly flat-rate installments of $100.00 each. I have gone through the calendar for the year (I will be forwarding this on to you at a later date, along with my official newsletter/update) and regardless of how many weeks are in each month, in the end, everyone will have approximately 36 lessons PLUS the 4 song sharing sessions, which comes out to about $25 per lesson.
Looking forward to hearing from and seeing you soon! Please feel free to pass on my information to any friends that you think might be interested in piano or beginning guitar lessons. I teach all ages!
